Yousif Devlin Bdes

      Industrial Designer

About

While in OCAD, Yousif has evolved a special interest in woodworking as well as developing wild ideas. His interests cover furniture design, product design, model-making, with a particular focus on detail and solving the technical challenges presented. Research and problem-solving play a major part in the Industrial Designer’s role, evolving into final designs that fulfill the needs of the user. Always curious, he wonders how things are made, and how, when assembled, they can fit a purpose and solve a need in the most efficient way.

Yousif Devlin, born and raised in Qatar, attended the Ontario College of Art and Design (OCAD) as an International Student. With an Irish father and a Palestinian mother, his diverse cultural background provides him with an unusual perspective. Choosing Industrial Design as a career direction has given him new skills and developed out-of-the-box creative thinking to fashion a useful career.
